The Girl Scout program encourages girls to learn the importance of personal
responsibility, the value of goal-setting, the spirit of teamwork, and the
thrill of accomplishment. The Girl Scout program is based on the Girl Scout
Promise and Law and four fundamental goals that encourage girls to:
|
- Develop to their full potential.
- Relate to others with increasing understanding, skill, and respect.
- Develop a meaningful set of values to guide their actions and to provide
for sound decision-making.
- Contribute to the improvement of society.
|
|
Girl Scouts are divided into Daisy Girl Scouts (ages 5-6), Brownie Girl Scouts (ages 6-8),
Junior Girl Scouts (ages 8-11), and STUDIO 2B for girls ages 11-17.

If you enjoy seeing the flowers in town, you can thank the Village Green Committee
and some helpful volunteers. Some of the girls of Temple Daisy troop 3916 helped plant
the flowers around the Veteran's monument and in the window boxes you see in front of the
Town Hall, church, and church sign. Such good helpers are Brownies in the making!

One fact that not everyone will know is that there is one plant
for every veteran listed on the monument. The Veteran's Garden is located between Town
Hall and Friendship Hall.

On Monday, June 6th, 2005, Brownie troop 898 invited Daisy troop 3916 to join them at Temple Elementary
School so they could learn what a Brownie meeting is like.
They played games, exchanged SWAPS (Special What-cha-ma-call-its Affectionately Pinned Someplace)
and learned the Brownie story in a fun, interactive way.
